The painting was created as a product illustration. The actual product as well as
supporting props had to be pictured. I chose a brand of tea known for the unique
henna patterns on the boxes. The supporting props were a Japanese teapot and
matching cup I had made in an earlier ceramics class. The style was similar to
watercolor painting; created by building up layers of paint with small accents of
supporting colors intermixed through the layers. For example, rather than a flat
grey, blue and brown were mixed in to give the shapes and shadows depth.
This project was created as part of a school project.
